You guys all act like you could do better. You think you could provide text 100% accurate as fast as a reporter firing off the news? Yeah right. If you had any insight at all into how this stuff is done you'd understand the mistake and realize it's an easy mistake to make. It just happens to be in an embarrassing context for the writer.
