This is my first time ever playing, much less owning Guitar Hero. The Guitar Hero franchise recently surpassed the $1 Billion mark which is astronomical, so it was only fitting that I contribute another $90 to the creators. The big draw for me to this version was the genre of songs. Classic and Anthem Rock at its finest. Never has there been a greater collection of songs than the ones on this game.
I played for about 2 hours last night, and was totally rocking out. I decided to try a bit of online play and battle someone. That is when I realized I had a lot of practicing to do. I got my ass handed to me, and it was probably by some 12 year old kid who should have been doing his homework. Asshole. If he continues on this downward spiral, he will probably wind up working for some subtitle service in the future.

Ha ha ha…I have it for the x360. You are right it IS an awesome game. I have a ton of fun with it. So much that ended up going out and buying Rock Band. Well that is a different story. The game is made by someone else. I got he stuff unpacked (which took about an hour) and the Mic didn’t work. After about 5 minutes, the drums quit working too. I took it back to Target promptly. AND the guitar was way cheap compared to the guitar that come with GH3.
I am looking to get this. My wife is going to a friends tomorrow night to play. I hope she catches the bug and ‘we have to go buy it’. I am holding out for the two guitar set though.

I haven’t heard a lot of good things about Rock Band. Maybe they will improve on their next version.

I didn’t like the 3 as much as I enjoyed the first 2… maybe the interest waned… I’m now having fun with buddies on Rock Band, even though the guitar part is easier on it. But whenever I need inspiration to get back to GH, I take a look at this girl’s picture holding a GH controller
